VISION

“I want my work to evoke an aura of beautiful feelings. I am constantly looking at the sky for color; it is the closest thing to actually watching God paint in the present moment.”

Milou is inspired by his heritage, his city, his country, and the trending cultural icons that comprise their cumulative images.

Born in the late 1960’s, Philadelphia bred Italian Judiac Fine- Pop artist Perry Milou was raised in a neighborhood heavy with Italian culture.  His parents, both in the entertainment industry, helmed his artistic pedigree and inspired Milou’s love for glitz and glamour, fine art and design, as well as his fascination with the fast moving high life.

As a boy, Milou was moved by the iconic imagery of young John John Kennedy’s salute on November 23, 1963. This important moment in history cemented Milou’s patriotic loyalty and fascination with her beauty, both natural and celluloid. Milou’s art commemorates moments that captivate America and capture her spirit, including homages to The Statue of Liberty and other cultural landscapes.

Milou still calls Philadelphia home and paints sensational montages, iconic businesses, landscapes and heroes. He is inspired by the historic pride of the city’s founding fathers and figurehead icons like courageous Rocky Balboa, Phillies superstar Cole Hamels, the majestic Ben Franklin Bridge and famous foodstuffs like DiBruno Brothers and velvety La Columbe coffee.

The artist is blessed with spiritual visions of beauty that are the blessings in his life. It’s no coincidence that Milou is the son of Angel, husband of Angela, father-in-law Angelo and the nanny to his daughter is Angelica. The guardian angels in his life inspire Milou’s continued success along his artistic journey.

Perry Milou is a steadfast artist and a chameleon of inspiration; his motivated imagination is never ending.    His Fine- Pop style is a bold blending of bright colors and iconography while paying tribute to classic styles and imagery.  Milou is an artist for the people, painting images that capture the essence of all his inspirations. Life is full of rich, vibrant colors and beautiful courage that Perry Milou never wants his audience to forget.
