It was a great honor to exhibit my work and present an original Fine Pop Action Painting of Jimmy Rollins to the future Phillies hit king at THE JIMMY ROLLINS FAMILY FOUNDATION 2014 TASTE OF THE WORLD BOLLYWOOD BASH. Local celebrities, generous patrons and professional athletes enjoyed dressing in colorful Indian clothes while dining and dancing and enjoying Pop Art!
The Rollins Family Foundation makes fresh food available to low income families. Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities dedicated to making healthy food available to families with high risk youth in the Philadelphia area. Two quotes associated with The Rollins Family Foundation are:
- “Fresh food shouldn’t be a luxury. Every family should have access to fruits and vegetables.” Jimmy Rollins
- “I believe that this new mission will contribute to better focus in the classroom, reduce crime and address serious health issues.” Mayor Michael Nutter
JRoll, as he is known, was aware of my art and charity work from my work with his fellow Phillies, including COLE HAMELS. The legendary shortstop was very appreciative of the 4/3ft graphic Leroy Neiman-like piece that I created specifically for auction at the 2014 Bollywood event. Additionally, I presented over 15 signed limited edition prints on canvas that were on display in the beautiful entrance of the event held at the prestigious Union League in Philadelphia. Over 15 current Phillies players signed the original piece including 2008 champion icons Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels. By nights end with more sales in progress, over $5000.00 of art was sold. As I continue my philanthropic work, I am dedicated to donating 50% sales of all artwork to charitable foundations that have an interest in working with.
