SIMONS SOIREE: AN AFFAIR FOR THE HEART.
SIMON’S FUND February 7, 2015, “An Affair for The Heart.”
Valley Forge Sheraton Hotel, King Of Prussia, PA
I was introduced to Darren and Phylis Sudman through a common friend several years ago. Within five minutes I understand the depth of their journey and the incredible heartfelt true story of their son Simon, whom lost his life at the precious age of 4 months old due to a heart arrhythmia. Simply put, Darren and Phylis created Simon’s Fund, whose missions clearly defined, in honor of their cherished son. Simon’s Fund is dedicated to raising awareness about the conditions that lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death in young athletes and children.
The organization provides free heart screenings to children in the greater Philadelphia area with growth on a national scale. The foundation sponsors medical research projects, hosts incredible awareness events, and works closely with major medical institutions and promotes legislation.
This past year in Harrisburg, Simon’s fund passed The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Act. To date they have screen week over 10,000 children and athletes, and have significantly changed over 80 lives. This is a great accomplishment for Simon’s Fund, as well as for the families helped by averting potential tragedy.
The Art at SIMON’S FUND “An Affair For The Heart” was the auction of my large pop wham Philly piece, entitled , “PHILLY FREEDOM !” Pop lyric’s of Elton John’s anthem are painted in the sky, and Philadelphia Eagles star Running back, LeSean, “Shady” McCoy dashing through the Benjamin Parkway foreground. Swarovski crystals and laser paper are spread throughout this dazzling composition.
