A STATEMENT FROM PERRY MILOU November 6th, 2007 has become a very important day in my life. These thoughts, these truths speak to all artists in the world whose incredible spirits of creation have been violated by discrimination and censorship. The following excerpts, press, and videos will paint a clear and concise picture of an unfair, unjust, attack on myself, my brand, my gallery, and the artists that I represent.
I am a native Philadelphian and very proud of my city. We are a passionate, hard working breed! I sometimes get sensitive to our underdog mentality, a young Rocky Balboa ego, 2nd placers, afraid of our own shadows, unfortunately, I feel this to be true, yet we do have the power to change it immediately. We should all try and walk with our heads a bit higher, some more pep in our gate, and appreciate each other with more respect and dignity. Philadelphia is a tremendously important place in the world. We are the soul of America, and should fight for each others plight with a greater sense of urgency. Attention Lawyers, Art Activists, Cultural Enthusiasts! We are blessed with tremendous talent in our city. We artists need greater support to survive! Artists are often taken advantage of on many levels. I now feel the pain of discrimination and censorship. Please step forward, I call to particular strong souls, without dollars in mind to join a battle with me to fight for artists freedoms. Rocky always answered the bell and his determination, his fight, is something I hold close. Come and be a champion with me! Perry Milou
